El Galeon - On Board Tour

El Galeon was open for tours all of Memorial Day Weekend and drew large crowds. The self-guided tours were well organized and the information signs informative. Detail information on the Spanish galleons and their crews could be found on a series educational displays on the gundeck.








Galleons were well armed with brass and iron cannons. The cannons were need to protect the cargoes, immigrants, and soldiers traveling on board.


The case contains navigational instruments and an oil lamp


Sailors need to knowledgeable in ropes and knots.



Large block and tackle pulleys were need to raise the spars to hold the sails.
