Tall Ship El Galleon Arrives

A replica of 16th and 17th century Spanish galleons, tall ship El Galeon (built in 2006) arrived on the high tide Wednesday May 25 2016. The ships requires a minimal depth of 13 feet and had to wait for high tide to travel through the mouth of the Merrimack River on route to Newburyport harbor. Spectators wait at Salisbury Beach State Reservation and along the docks at Newburyport to witness its arrival. The ship will stay for Memorial Day weekend and tours will be offered daily.
