Ebb & Flow at the Mouth of the River

On a daily basis, the tides of the Atlantic ocean and the flow of the Merrimack River are in a constant tug of war as they collide with each other. This collision of natural forces is most evidence at the mouth of the river inside of the jetties. The unrelenting flow of the river meets the incoming waves. Normally this creates choppy waters. On rare occasions, the demarcation between the two forces is as clear as night and day. The flow of the river current is placid with a smooth surface and the incoming tide has a rough turbulent surface. This was the case on Sunday March 3, 2019.
