Truck Week: Accordion 18-Wheeler Truck
The large multi-ton stone blocks are delivered to the Salisbury jetty on flatbed trucks. So, I was surprised to see a nice looking black colored big rig with a box trailer pull out on the beach. The driver got out of the rig and pull a long metal pole off the side of the trailer. He walk to the back of the trailer and then rolled up a canopy cover the back of it. Then he proceed to push the canopy cover forward towards to the front of trailer. It squished together like an accordion revealing two huge stones. After the stones were unloaded by the excavator, he pulled the accordion canopy back out. The cover presumably makes then truck more aerodynamic and reduces fuel costs.
