Building the Ramp to the Beach

As part of the preliminary site work, an access ramp was built from the parking lot to the beach. The purpose of the ramp is to provide a solid surface for the tractor trailers carrying the big rocks for the jetty to drive onto the beach where they will be off loaded. The ramp was built using timber platforms and crushed stone.

Timber platforms  were laid down to form an access road to beach. Boulders from the old jetty were used to temporarily hold them in place.

Timber platforms are also used to keep the excavator from damaging the pavement.
