Dismantling a Section of the Old Jetty

There is a scattering of stones between the main jetty and the concrete seawall along the Merrimack River. It is remnants of a continuation of the jetty. This section was dismantled in preparation for rebuilding it. The stone blocks are small and apparently not well suited for the new repairs. The blocks were used to reinforce the chain link fence erected across beach to keep beach goers out of the construction site.

Excavator digs out the old stone blocks.

The stone is loaded into a front end loader so it could be moved to the fence.
