Awaiting Assembly

It took five flatbed trailers to deliver all of the pieces of the huge CAT 390F excavator. According to the truck driver, the body of the excavator was driven onto the flatbed. Then wood blocks were placed under it, and the caterpillar treads removed and placed on separate flatbeds.  The armature was shipped in two pieces. The large one (5th photo down) weights 15 tons. The smaller arm section was shipped on the same flatbed as the counter weight. Having the equipment in the parking lot outside of the fenced off construction area allowed us to get up close and experiment with some black & white photographs.
