Claw Assembly

The final step in the assembly process for the large excavator was to attach the claw. The claw can lift 19 tons. When I arrived the claw assembly was already in progress. A wood pallet was placed on top of the prongs of the forklift and used as a platform for the welder. The claw was lifted into position by the front end loader. It was held up by one of the teeth on the bucket. The welder welded the claw to the arm of the excavator.

The smaller excavator exchanged its bucket for a claw as well. This also needed the claw unit welded to the arm of the excavator.

Brand new, not a scratch on it!
